Jens Sethzman worked as a freelance scenics artist in Stockholm during 1985-1990 with Teater Fågel Blå, Fria Teatern, Oktoberteatern and Boulevardteatern.

In the beginning of the 90´s Jens Sethzman started to create his own designs. His developement as set designer has been strongly influenced by architecture and light, with specific theories about the irrationality and musicality of light.

Jens Sethzman has been working with contemporary dance for the last fifteen years and his works have been presented in almost all of the european countries.

Collaborations with choreographers as Ina Christel Johannessen (Norway),  Kenneth Kvarnström (Finland), Virpi Pahkinen (Finland), Cristina Caprioli (Sweden/Italy), Staffan Eek (Sweden), Per Jonsson (Sweden), Margareta Åsberg (Sweden), Björn Elisson (Sweden), Reich/Szyber (Sweden) and Birgitta Egerbladh (Sweden).

Recent works include lighting and set design for Medealand (director Ingela Olsson) at the Swedish Royal Dramatic Theatre and Ready to Explode by choreographer Örjan Andersson

Jens Sethzman has created the set and lighting design for Johan Inger’s Point of eclipse and Position of elsewhere.
